aka / Arbeitskreis Kulturanalyse exists since June 2013.

aka is an open interdisciplinary network for people who are interested in the field of cultural analysis and/or art production or who are active in those very fields themselves. A special concern is the promotion and mutual support of young scientists.

aka is interested in symbolic forms and cultural practices in their complexity and diversity. The connection of cultural analysis with social analysis is just as much a goal as the bringing together of scholarship and art.

aka opens the space for exchange and discussion. In regular reading circles, theoretical approaches from literary- and cultural scholarship as well as from social sciences, philosophy and theology, postcolonial and gender studies, media studies and psychoanalysis are jointly elaborated and discussed.

aka organizes events of various formats, with a special focus on transdisciplinary, innovative and emancipatory approaches that take up, reflect on, and theoretically ground authoritative problems of our present time and make them accessible to a broader public.

aka is also on facebook.
